The Mindset for Success

The most pitiful people in my eyes are those who don’t think they can dream big, those who don’t believe in their capability to achieve greatness. They see life from such a narrow, limited perspective. To them, there is a certain way life should be. We attend school, enroll into university, graduate, work, and retire. They see life as a system that everyone must conform to; anyone who deviates from this structure is considered a dropout, a failure. They can’t comprehend an alternative because that’s “the way it is.” They settle for this path laid out for them because they don’t realize they have the potential to reach something grander. Let me remind you that the greatest geniuses performed very poorly academically, proving that we don’t have to let the education system define us. Exam scores don’t reflect our intelligence, talents, or skills. Diplomas and degrees don’t dictate who we can or can’t be.

It’s not a coincidence or plain luck that successful people are successful; they’re successful because they have the right mindset that sets them up for success. They have immense self-confidence and faith in their ability to fulfill their goals. They are risk takers and understand the essentiality of being willing to undertake challenges. They have insane work ethic and make use of the vast opportunities before them. Most importantly, they have strong determination and relentless perseverance. This mindset is exactly what sets the 1% true successful, happy individuals in our world apart from the average 99%.

If you don’t want to change your mindset, don’t. Just keep seeing life as a set track that everyone must follow. Keep settling for what comes to you instead of seeking what you want and chasing your dreams. Keep playing it safe and never challenge yourself. Keep giving up every time a minor inconvenience occurs. Keep complaining and dwelling on negativity instead of aspiring to change. Keep being pessimistic and spend the rest of your miserable life doing what you hate. As for me, I’m packing my bags and flying to distant horizons. I’m in control of my life, and I’ll shape it the way I want by setting out to accomplish what I desire. I’ll pursue my passions to the ends of the Earth.

Tell me I’m wrong, tell me I’ll fail, tell me I’ll regret it— ain’t nothing anyone says will stop me from believing in myself and doing what I love. Call me overoptimistic, call me idealistic, call me delusional— your invalid opinion ain’t lowering my high self-esteem one bit. I have reached a level of unshakable mental strength, and I will never ever waver. I know that I’m right and I know that I’ll get to where I want to be, but I don’t expect you to understand, because my mind is wired differently. My mind is wired for greatness and success. And that’s exactly what will make me one of the phenomenal 1%. Keep doubting me; I’ll only prove you wrong. I won’t say another word and I’ll let my success speak for itself.
